Opportunities for Student Counsellors / Psychotherapists
At Stepping Stones, we believe in providing the highest standard of placement for all of our students, no matter where they train. This is why we are one of the few UK training placements who also pay their students and provide free, fortnightly, supervision!

We refer to our student counsellors / psychotherapists as Placement Counsellors, and you will be part of a major part of our service. All referrals are assessed and allocations part of a careful process, which is led by our Clinical and Safeguarding Co-ordinator.
We provide long term placements (minimum of 1 year), for Humanistic, Integrative and Psychodynamically focused students. We have space for up to 20 students every academic year and will support you to build towards working with 3 clients every week, at our Worthing premises.
Group supervision is provided, free of charge, every fortnight for 2 hours, and all training reports are provided without charge. Supervision is compulsory, and non-attendance can risk your offer of placement.
In addition, we have availability of 1:1 supervision sessions if your training course require a more particular level of supervision, including with a UKCP Registered Supervisor. This is provided for an additional, but much reduced, fee.
At Stepping Stones we have provided successful placements for a range of training colleges and universities, including University of Brighton, Cara Counselling, Varndean College and Metanoia. We are currently in negotiations with University of Roehampton regarding providing placements for students studying their MA Integrative Counselling training.
